Eden AI integration: partnership inquiry for a first class EU provider #6026

Description

@MVS-source

Hi Mintplex Labs team,

I am Victor from Eden AI. First, thanks for AnythingLLM, it is genuinely great to use.

I read your Criteria for New LLM Providers carefully, including the OpenAI-Compatibility Rule and the Strategic Partnership Exception, so I want to be upfront rather than open a standard integration PR.

Being honest on the technical side: Eden AI is OpenAI compatible (standard /v3/chat/completions and /models, bearer auth), so it already works today through your Generic OpenAI connector, with base URL https://api.edenai.run/v3 and an EDENAI_API_KEY. Under your rule that means we would not qualify for a dedicated integration as an unsolicited contribution, and I do not want to waste your review time.

So I am reaching out under your Strategic Partnership Exception instead. We are the Eden AI team, not a random third party, and we would be glad to build and maintain a first class integration for the long run.

Why a dedicated provider could be worth it over the generic connector:

  • Eden AI is a European company, and that is the main point for EU teams: EU data residency (an EU endpoint at https://api.eu.edenai.run/v3), zero data retention, a DPA, and SOC 2 and ISO 27001. A dedicated provider lets us default to the EU endpoint and surface these guarantees in the UI, which the generic connector cannot.
  • One key reaches models from many providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Mistral, Cohere and more) with vendor prefixed ids like openai/gpt-4o-mini, and we expose a models endpoint so the dropdown can populate on its own.
  • We would own the maintenance, so this would not be a one time contribution that you inherit.

On market viability: Eden AI has been running a public and stable production API for well over 90 days (years in fact) as an established company, so this is not an early stage launch.

Would you be open to a first class Eden AI provider under the partnership exception? If you would rather we stay on the Generic OpenAI connector, that is totally fine too, and we would be happy to contribute a short docs how to so EU users can find it easily. Glad to chat on Discord or by email, whatever is easiest for you.

Thanks a lot.
